learning activity icon Learning activity 13: final reflection

In your Workbook, revisit your original project management worksheet from the “proactive project management worksheet” activity. Based on the skills and tools you have learned through this module, how would you adapt and edit the worksheet from the “proactive project management worksheet” activity to create a more thorough project plan (if applicable)? Compare this worksheet to the ongoing project plan you have created starting with in the “setting SMART goals for a project” activity.

  • Activity: Plan and finish a mini-project.
  • Objective: To apply the knowledge and skills learned in the project management module by planning and executing a small-scale project.
  • This can be done individually or as group.
  • Set a timeline for the project to finish.

Instructions:

  • Each student or group comes up with a project idea.
  • Each student or group creates a project plan, including project objectives, project scope, timelines, resources required, and risks and possibilities.
  • Each student or group executes their project, monitor the progress of their project, make adjustments as necessary, and complete the project within the assigned time.
  • Then each student or group conducts a post-project review to evaluate the project’s success and identify any areas for improvement.
  • In the last part, each student or group presents their project and project management approach to the class.

By completing this activity, the participants will have the opportunity to apply their project management knowledge and skills in a practical setting, gaining hands-on experience in project planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. The presentations will also allow for group discussion and feedback.

Congratulations! You’ve reached the end of the project management module. By now, you should have a fundamental understanding of the necessary skills for project management. In this section, you will use your new skills to improve your previous work as well as practice the skills you used by planning and executing a small-scale project.
