We (the team who created these modules) come from regions across Canada and we pay respect to the Indigenous people, who are the traditional guardians of this land. We acknowledge the traditional knowledge keepers and honour their courageous leaders, from past, present, and future.
Native Land is a “platform where Indigenous communities can represent themselves and their histories on their own terms. In doing so, Native Land Digital creates spaces where non-Indigenous people can be invited and challenged to learn more about the lands they inhabit, the history of those lands, and how to actively be part of a better future going forward together.” Our team members work primarily on territories of the Anishinabe (Alison, Ashley, Connor, Jeremy, Kim, Tiffany), Syilx (Bradley, Gino), and Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, Odawa, and Potawatomi (Adam, Isabelle H., Isabelle B.-N.).
We invite you to explore the interactive map and discover more about the land on which you live, work, and play. Native-Land.ca | Our home on native land
