In this module, we have spent a lot of time talking about how we can work towards developing our individual resilience, but we must remind ourselves that the systems around us impact our resilience, too, so it’s important to recognize these structures to identify how they may best support our growth. What needs do you have as a learner, as a community member, as part of a social group? How can your leaders, mentors, and surrounding structures support you to ensure your optimal growth and resilience in the face of moderate, tolerable stressors? Maybe it’s through their values, actions, or access to resources.
Take a few minutes to reflect on these questions and write down two ways your surrounding systems can support you in your journey towards improved resilience. Since we are all part of this system, knowing what you need can shed light on steps you may take to encourage or implement positive changes for yourself and others.
